Batman Arkham Beyond Ch.3

As Batman made his way towards the final earthquake machine, someone was tracking his movements from a scanner that linked through the entire sewer line.

???:   Its time to die Batman!

With a quick flick of a switch, the machine was charged to full power, unleashing a sonic wave so powerful that the stone dome around the Dark Knight’s car shattered like glass. He quickly launched himself out of the car and glides straight to the machine. The inmates tried to stop him, but were easily beaten by the Crusader’s attacks. He was about to deactivate the earthquake machine when he’s suddenly launched into a wall by a sonic blast.

???:   Not this time Batman, you won’t ruin this for me!

Batman:   Shriek…..

Shriek:   Do you have any idea how long I’ve waited for this day? The city is mine for the taking…..and I’m not gonna let you ruin it.

Batman:   You’ve gone too far Shriek. You have to stop this now!

Shriek:   Not gonna happen freak….I’ve gone too far in this. Now stay outta my way!

Shriek launches another blast of sonic energy at Batman, who quickly dodges it and hurls a batarang straight at the sonic sensor on his head, frying his systems in the process.

Shriek:   AGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Then to deliver the killing shot, Batman punches Shriek so hard that his mask nearly shatters in the process, knocking him out as well. Once the sonic powered villain was dealt with and the final earthquake machine was shut down, Batman pulls out the main systems power grid and scans it with his forensic sequencer.

Batman:   Bruce, I’m sending you the earthquake system programing grid. Run a scan on the entire city for anymore of these machines. I’ll be in touch.

The Crusader walks over to a now awoken Shriek and grabs humbly the neck.

Batman:   Alright Shriek, you and I are gonna have a little talk. Where did you get those machines?

Shriek:   Don’t act like you’re clueless Batman. I saw the feed from the Asylum.

Batman:   The Superior…..so you and him are in leads together…

Shriek:   You’re finished Batman…..he’s gonna break you….make you cry like the small child you are playing dress up.

Batman:   Am I suppose to be scared?

Shriek:   You should be….

Batman:   And why is that?

Shriek:   Bat Fake number two has big plans……plans to end the curse by destroying this city once and for all. Ending centuries of wasted, pointless crimes and finally rising to the top as any criminal ever wanted. The Asylum…..that was only the beginning…..you’re done bat……you all are…

Batman:   We’ll see about that.

He drags Shriek back to his car and straps him in one of his new prisoner pods.

Batman:   Gordon, I’m sending in Shriek. Make sure he has a cozy cell.

Gordon:   We’ve got a new Wayne Tech Cell just for him.

He presses a button and traps Shriek in the pod like a trapped animal.

Shriek:   You can’t stop this Batman. This is going to happen.

Batman:   I’ll take my chances…

He activates the pod, hurling Shriek straight out into the night and on his way for GCPD.

Bruce:   You should head there as well. Heard Barbara has some intel for you on the Superior.

Batman:   Alright, I’m on my way now. Thanks Bruce.

Following the Prisoner Pod back to the maximum security institute of the GCPD, Terry parked the Batmobile out front and walks in to talk with Commissioner Gordon.

Batman:   Commissioner…

Gordon:   Terry…

Batman:   I’m sorry about your men back at the Asylum.

Gordon:   It wasn’t your fault Terry, I warned them about going in but half of these cops are either crooked or just plain stupid. Reminds me of the old days…

Batman:   Bruce told me you had some intel for me.

Gordon:   Yes, how’s Bruce?

Batman:   The usual….

Gordon:   Thats Bruce for ya…..come this way…

As Gordon walked into their intel center, cops were pushing Shriek into his cell.

Cop:   Get in there freak!

Shriek:   You better watch what you say pig!

Gordon:   Ok, we got a call saying that riots are forming all over the city. All wearing strange masks on their faces and painting a strange symbol on their chests.

Batman:   Hate these stupid things. They say their making a difference but really making fools of themselves.

Gordon:   You’re kinda starting to sound like Bruce now.

Batman:  Whatever….what else do you have for me?

Gordon:   Got a distress call from an anonymous source. Said it wants you to meet someone in a warehouse by the docks. Look for a red bat symbol.

Batman:   Don’t like the sound of that.

Gordon:   It gets worse, finally we got a message from the Superior. It seemed like an invitation.

She plays the message for him to hear.

The Superior:   Pass this on to the Bat! You did good against Shriek Batman….but You’re still inferior to my greatness. Time for your next step to your downfall! The old Wayne tower in Old Gotham. Go there if you dare Batman. Otherwise, just stay behind and watch your city fall!

Gordon:   I was just about to send in a squad to the tower.

Batman:   Don’t….its me he wants. I don’t want another recap of the Asylum.

Gordon:   Fine…..this “Superior,” I get a bad vibe off of him for some reason.

Batman:   Just a jealous creep….I’ll find him and end his so called superior life as the Batman.

Gordon:   Just promise to be careful, ok kid?

Batman:   You should feel worried for the criminals.
